
March 6, 2008 Lisa Peters the foremost expert on John Henry Twachtman kicked off the lecture series. Peters is director of research and publications and co-author, John H. Twachtman Catalogue Raisonné at Spanierman Gallery, New York. Among her other publications are John Twachtman: A "Painter's Painter," a catalogue that accompanied an exhibition she curated at Spanierman Gallery and the Historical Society of the Town of Greenwich, Connecticut in 2006, and "Spiritualized Naturalism: The Tonal-Impressionist Art of J. Alden Weir and John Twachtman," an essay included in the Poetic Vision: American Tonalism in 2005. Peters also authored John Henry Twachtman: An American Impressionist Images of Suburban Leisure and Country Comfort at Dickinson College in 1997, and at the Florence Griswold Museum, Old Lyme, Connecticut.
March 13, 2008 Samuel White, great-grandson of Stanford White and partner of the architectural firm Platt Byard Dovell White Architects, spoke and signed copies of his books on McKim, Mead and White during the reception.
March 20, 2008 Charles Burlingham, Jr. grandson of Julian Alden Weir spoke about "memories of Weir Farm." Charlie also played Cole Porter songs on the piano during the reception.
